We have medical elective placement opportunities in Africa-Uganda for student Nurses, trainee doctor’s, physiotherapists, trainee midwives and Dentists , giving you chance to use and develop new medical skills.
We also have medical experience placements and GAP medical placements, for students who want to gain medical experiences during their holidays and breaks from undergraduate training at university . We can also arrange for people who simply want a professional medical work experience in Africa.
Getting some genuine hospital work experience in Africa shadowing doctors can be hugely valuable, both before and during medical school. As well as being a prerequisite for most medicine courses, some basic clinical experience helps to make the theory learned in the first years of medical school more relevant and exciting and this is what we will give you opportunity to get in Uganda
How we help: We have a number of elective partner hospitals in Uganda to ensure you’re placed in a suitable and safe learning environment, with staff who genuinely want to mentor pre-medical and pre-nursing students.
It can be nerve-wracking, stepping off the plane for the first time on your own in a new continent and new countrya and then try to rogaise your own placements. We are locally based in Uganda, we have ear on the ground and we will look after you for the duration you spent on the elective medical placement. We will organise genuine and suitable placement for you in Uganda with a Hospital, health centre or other medical care providers, but this will be done after consultation with you or your team.
What we do: 
- We will give you space and freedom to choose your suitable date ad time for the placement including locations ie rural, city or town based.
- A Msafiri field manager will work through all the small intricate details with you and we shall advise you about, what to bring, visas, medical placement documentation.
- We will deal with the red tape and any other stresses that you are bound to face trying to organise an elective placement in Uganda by your self.
- We will arrange your transport, food and accommodation while on your elective placement in Uganda
- We work in some of the most pristine and attractive environments in Uganda, there is allot to do and see. We give you chance to see the culture and the wild life at the end of your placement if you wish; this includes excursions, Safaris, adventure activities like white water rafting and more.
